Home security is divided into two different kinds. Which type will be the best for your purposes? What do they have in common and what are the differences? How do you know what to get for your purposes and will there be a chance that it will go off accidentally?
Outside Vs. Inside
Outdoor alarms have evolved a very great deal over the past couple of years alone. Where previously the neighbor’s cat on the fence could set off a loud and rather obnoxious alarm, today’s security systems are designed to measure the size of the intruder, to estimate a weight and to hold off on sounding an alarm.
If you’re biggest problem is the outside of your home, if you have a lot of grounds outdoors, or if the area is darkened on a regular basis and you come home alone at night, an outdoor security system may be just what you need to make you feel relatively safe. The outdoor system will monitor the grounds around the area. Flood lights will light the area if there is motion detected, while you may also have a driveway alarm installed that will let you know if anyone or anything is in that immediate area.
Indoor alarms work in one of several ways. Generally you leave your home and enable the alarm. When you arrive at home you either have so long to disable the alarm once you go inside using a panel, or you disable it outdoors in a garage panel. We’ve seen security alarm panels installed nearly everywhere. So long as the distance isn’t too great you’re fairly free on where you can put the panel for your system.
There are also battery powered alarm systems. In the case of a power outage the battery powered alarms are quite a lot more reliable but if you tend to forget to check things like batteries then the electric variety will be your best bet.
